we were just in Colorado in june. great weather. I've seen that the springs had some snow and rain which caused some flash floods last week.
anyway, we stayed at Mueller state park rather than Cheyenne. it is farther from the attractions but it has nice shaded sites whereas at Cheyenne mtn there is no shade.
went to mesa verde a few years ago and stayed right at the campground there (morefield?). nothing fancy but it had electric and it was right there.
didn't go to Utah.
