We are planning a trip to this campground and I read somewhere that we should not follow the campground directions to the park from the east because of a railroad track that was a problem for low clearance. How much of a problem is this?

If you are in the Coleman 15bh you should not have a problem. The track has a sharp approach and departure angle but with a short trailer it should be no problem. Long MHs and trailers would have a problem. Just hit the beach as far east as you can then follow the beach road west until you hit the park.

It looks like Clermont and Railroad rds. I had come from the west so it brought me down that way. They dont look like much in google maps but they are or were when I went there last April.

It is a beautiful park. My only complaint is the same one I have with much of the gulf coast. NOSEEUMS!!!!!!

I happened to call them when I was nearby and was given the best route in. Yes, the RR crossing at one point is not good for RVs.

I followed the sign to the casino and when you get to the beach turn left (right takes you to the casino) and the park will be about half mile on your left.

YES There are some outrageous RR tracks near there. My gps took me that way and I made it but you dont want to go there. I'm trying to remember but I thought it was to the west of there.

In fact the tracks run near the back or north side of the park. The tent sites are closest to the tracks. We paid extra and stayed out at the gulf side. Those sites have water and electric but you have to go to a central dump station.

Sorry, I am asking about the park in Waveland, Ms. Someone had posted that they drug the bottom of their rv on the railroad tracks that you have to cross coming in from the east following the park directions. Thanks!
