Cable in the RV Park

Plug it in, turn off the antenna booster and change the input on your TV.

what do I change to tv to.

I have cable plugins in my basement, I suppose that is where I plug it into, right?

Every RV park I've been to so far, cable means the old analog cable channels that TVs have been equipped to receive since the 1980s "cable ready."

You bring your cable, connect it from their outlet to your connector, where ever it is (utility compartment, sidewall, or direct to TV if RV is not cable ready).

Turn off the booster for your antenna, that usually interferes with cable reception.

Your cable-ready TV has a menu with options for the tuner. There will be
"Antenna (or broadcast)" and one or more "Cable" options. Switch to one of the "Cable" options, there were several sets (bands) of cable channels, but most of the interesting stations are on the lower numbered channels, and those are the same for most cable bands. Then do a scan to let the TV find the active cable channels.

Yes the plugins in the basement are likely correct. Change TV to cable view intead of Over the Air view, it is likely in your tv setup procedures.

Some parks are moving to digital cable in which case you will need a box. They are provided by the cg but they will ask for a deposit so they get it back.

I think I have that box in the motorhome already, but not sure.

Since you have a Class A, you may also have a master switch box somewhere inside the RV. At several RV parks where I worked, the Class A's would usually have the most trouble when switching from satellite to cable to antenna. The switch boxes I saw were almost all in the cabinetry above the dash.

You usually access the TV menu from the remote control, so look at the remote and push menu then look for "source" and select "Cable" instead of "Antena" then after hooking up the cable from the campground, you might have a distribution box that has several buttons and they will be labled "Cable" and "DVD", VCR, Antenna, Satalight, Ect. Select cable and you should be ready to g.

I found that if your cable connects outside that first leads to the bedroom and then to splitter to the booster in the front, 99% of the time it won't work with the new digital TV's. CG cable doesn't work on my MH anymore since the change over.

Someone on the tech forum had a fix for that. He said the new digital doesn't like the splitter part of it.

The last CG I was at they told everyone to run the cable thru a window directly to the booster. THAT did work.
