Camp Hatteras Site Numbers

They removed the site numbers from their maps but I was able to find this old one of the Sound Side.

Can anyone share one of Ocean side with site numbers displayed?

  • We just returned from there on the 5th of April after a 7 day stay and everyone was very nice to deal with. The WIFI worked flawlessly. We were on the sound side because they were paving the ocean side roads while we were there.
I would go back there again if in the area.
  • Just booked our Oceanfront site for April 29th - May 4th. I'll be in the Bandit Toy Hauler. Stop by and say hello. This will be our maiden voyage with the camper.
  • This is where I'm planning on staying April 29th - May 4th. Girlfriend and I will be down with the toy hauler.

We had the opposite experience. They couldn't have treated us better I don't think. Jeannette and David were awesome!
  • If the OP is still interested in this, PM me and I'll scan what I have and shoot it to yyou in an email.
  • I wasn't being argumentative, just curious what you experienced.

    I can't vouch for the wi-fi. I don't remember using it.

After reading some of the reviews I linked to, I will say that Ocean front doesn't mean you can see over the dunes. It was nice to have a short walk to the beach though.

Hmmm... Stayed there last year for a couple of days. Seemed exceedingly nice. Not sure what happened on your stay Larry. Maybe some more info would help?

Well, I may have been a bit crabby during that trip, but the people in the office really set me off. The first thing was a problem with their wifi. I asked at the office if there was something wrong and they told me I should just steal the wifi from the campground next door since it was better. There were several other incidents during the time I was there and determined to check it off my list for future trips. This was several years ago. Maybe they have new people now, oh, and a new wifi?? :E

  • In all probability they did this to preclude people from requesting certain sites, and they then can better assign/balance sites to keep people from being on top of one another when they're not full up. Or they got tired of hearing "I've had that site for the last 4 summers and I WANT IT NOW"!!!
