Campground recommendations.

Looking for some campground recommendations for the winter in AZ or NM. Looking for clean and cheap ones, yeah aren't we all. Just got our RV and want to get away from the IL winters.
Thanks
  • We are in love with Fiesta Grande resort in Casa Grande, AZ, Smallish town. 1/2 MILE from gate to whatever you could want or need. We walk it mostly. Many activities, heated pools a really nice place.
55 and over park. Hope to see you there.
    Activities include
water volleyball, pickle ball, dance with live music most Friday nights. exercise classes of all types. activities for the ladies, Any kind of cards you play probably has a session or two each week.
HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE PM me if you want more info
  • I spent a month in the La Paz County Park in Parker, AZ. Some sites are right on the Colorado River, February temperatures were in the 60's & 70's. Sites have water & electric, and a pump truck is available once a week. Clean bathrooms & showers, lots of activities and a great floating bar/restaurant next door. $340.00 + Electric per month ($235.00 for dry camping).

Of course, if you want cheap, Imperial Dam BLM camping area across the river about 25 miles from Yuma is $40.00 for 2 weeks, and $180.00 for the entire winter. No hookups, but a great community (water, a dump station, and dumpsters are included).

Are you over 55? What kind of RV and the age would help.
IN AZ and other places their are parks for over 55 and some parks have a flexible 10 year old limit on the rig.
Will look for the profile area. 67 and 62 2014 Jayco GrayHawk 31'
  • There is a lot of variability between the two states. Do want to be in the city, the mountains, rural area? What are your hobbies? Do want to be near the Mex border or far away? Do you like shuffleboard or atving? Some great parks in Peoria AZ Just remember the Super Bowl is in Phoenix this year.
  • Even the most southern parts of NM experience sub-freezing (below 32 degrees) overnight temps from December through February but it's doable if you don't mind cold weather camping. In AZ along the Colorado River and from Phoenix area onward south will have an abundant amount of places to RV, whether they meet your budget will require further investigation. Keep in mind that AZ is not nearly as far south as parts of Texas or Florida and will at times incur short periods of cold weather that happen to dip down into the southern regions of the Grand Canyon state during the winter season.
  • We live in Alamogordo NM and have a tough time determining if we want to leave home to go someplace where the winter is about the came as here. We have kids in Tucson so we do go there but winter is about the same. But I will tell you the winters are far better either place than illinois where I grew up, all my siblings still live, and I escaped from. Lots of opportunity in either place. PM me if either place I mentioned interests you and I will get you costs based on our experience and pros and cons of each.
