Campground Suggestions Weeki Wachee FL area

We are planning a trip to FL. We would like some suggestions for a good campground in the area of Weeki Wachee Springs state park. We want to visit that park for the day before me move on. We need a nice campground that is secure to stay for roughly two nights. We will have a large size dog traveling with us, so dog friendly only.

Thanks for suggestions!
  • I third Rock Crusher. We stay there during the winter and it's a nice secure location. If you're going during the summer it certainly will have more shade than your average RV park. The pool is nice too.
  • Rainbow Spgs SP is further away but a reasonable drive and a great CG

We stayed at Rock Crusher. About the best for the money, secure and pets welcome. We stayed with our chocolate lab. Very friendly. We had fun exploring the area, including visiting Weeki Watchee.

Did you mean your lab was very friendly or the campground?
  • Look at Cody's Catfish pond in Weeki Watchi. We stayed there for a week a few years back.
  • We stayed at Rock crusher at New Years. It was fine but they crammed us in really tight spot between some long term residents. Also we had two small kids with us but did not see many other kids there. Was good for base camp for our visit. Also be aware they only have 50amp plug so if you are setup for 30amp you will need to ring or buy from them ($24) an 50amp adapter
