Campgrounds in Maine

Are any campgrounds near Bar Harbor or Freeport Maine open in november? We thought about a 6 day trip up there. Would prefer full hook ups. Thanks
  • Highly unlikely. Virtually all RV parks in Maine close by mid-October (many earlier than that). You're also often dealing with hard freezes past that and most parks drain and winterize their water lines when they close up.

Do be aware of the additional issue this year of either a less-than-72 hour old negative Covid-19 test result OR a mandatory self-quarantine with absolutely no shopping or dining (not even going grocery shopping) if you are visiting Maine from most other states (there are a few that are exempt from this). Also be aware the neighboring states have similar travel restrictions.

  • If the covid thing doesn't stop you from wanting to go, you might want to check out cabin rentals. They are decently priced in season. If any are open I can't imagine they would be very pricey.
  • Have you looked a average temperatures up there for November - on the coast even if you could camp you will find nothing open

Good Sam website has 146 campground in Maine - 5 open all year with 3 of those being state parks with no hookups
  • FYI, Maine still has a 14 day quarantine in effect for out of state visitors.
I don't know if it is being enforced or not but you might want to check it out before you travel.
  • Top of the page click on campgrounds and then filter open all year.
