When we visited Niagara Falls, we approached through Port Huron, MI and Sarna, Ontario and spent a delightful four days at 50 Point Conservation Area which was recommended by friends who live in Ontario.

50 Point

They came out and spent those days with us in their motor home. It is not that close to the Falls, but that suited us. The campground is right on Lake Ontario and has the kind of sites we prefer: plenty of space and not like a parking lot.

We did return to the US for a look from "this side" and spent one night in the same RV park that someone mentioned earlier:

Royal Motel RV

It was fine for our overnight there.

If you have kids going, and a toad to drive, go an hour east to Darien Lake . Rides, water park, etc.
There is a big KOA on Grand Island, I never stayed, near Fantasy Island amusement park.

A few years ago we stayed at the KOA in Niagara on Lundy's Lane on the Canadian side. I thought the campground was fine (kids loved it), and the local bus stops right in front of the campground all day long - just jump on it (very reasonable cost), and it brings you right to the falls.

We went with two other families. For dinner one day, we ate at the Skylon Restaurant (the big tower right next to the falls). They have an all you can eat buffet "family" section and we loved it! The food was great, and we put a dent in their profits that day, lol! The view over looking the falls is fantastic.

We stayed at Riverside on the Canadian side. Small...but cheap. The only time we were there was to sleep as we spent most of our time "Downtown". It is a short drive down the Niagara River. If and when we do go back...we will stay there again.

Camped at AA Royal Motel & Campground in North Tonawanda in 2009. It's less than 15 mi. from the falls. Maybe 30 sites and $42. No issues...I'd stay again.

X2 on Four Mile Creek State Park! It's second only to Robert Moses State Park in Massena in my book, but certainly first in the Niagara Falls area. Your park access receipt also gives you free access to the Niagara Falls State Park parking lots.

When we lived in NY we always stayed at Four Mile Creek State Park. It is maybe 20 minutes north of Niagara Falls but very nice. Large, open sites and right on the lake. It was our favorite SP in NY.

We stayed in the Yogi Bear campground on the Canadian side, which wasn't a bad park. The U.S. side is not very nice. We went over there and the town was very dirty.

We'll be there about the same time. I'm looking forward to the responses. I'd prefer to stay on the U.S. side since I'll have a firearm in the FW. But I'm okay with traveling to the Canadian side in the TV for the better view of the falls.
