Camping near la grande oregon

Looking for recomendations for camping near la grande for a short visit.
  • Also stayed at Grande Hot Springs RV Resort. Also agree it's far from a resort.

The hot springs pool is unique- not much comfortable about swimming in hot water. Even getting into the hot tub to make the pool feel cooler only worked a bit.

But, the staff was excellent. We had a package shipped there that got delayed and arrived after we did. We left them money in an envelope and asked if they could forward it to us. They did.

Here are pictures from our stay:

  • We stay at La Grande hot spring resort last year.Nice but not a resort.
  • We also stayed at the Grande Hot Springs RV Park. Friendly staff, quiet, easy in and out.
  • We stayed at one right as you come off the freeway into the center of town. It's kind of to the right and across the main drag with all the car dealers. Nice enough park with a little store and really nice people. We were there several days because our PSD Excursion decided to puke 4 injectors. The EX has 100,100 miles and ford wouldn't warranty it and the dealer basically sc####d us by charging us for full bore for replacing the three injectors on one side and then didn't replace the one on the other side that was bad. Stay away from him.
But the campground was still nice.
  • Last fall we stayed at Grande Hot Springs Rv park. About five miles south of La Grande with very quiet large sites and full hook ups.
  • There is one park about 5 miles north right on I84. Cant remember if its a state pr NF park. Could be a bit noisy.
