I am familiar with DFW area. I lived and worked there at Baylor for 3 years a few years ago. At that time we lived in the RV Park that is KOA now (it wasn't at that time) It is very nice but was looking for something cheaper but with hookups near the Cowboys stadium for a couple of days. We ended up not going anyway but that was my purpose in asking. Mostly curiosity about that park.
Is there a particular reason that you are researching this campground? Is it close to something particular or family? Reason I ask is that there are several other campgrounds in the DFW, some alot nicer than others.
Courage is the feeling you have right before you fully understand the situation
Camped in the North part several times ...It's our new place to stay when in the DFW area. The roads G1/G2 accommodate a 45' motorhome. Not all sites are level and most are not 45'+ long. I think we stay in site 185 (FHU,50A). In general, TX State Parks are in need of repair, this one is above average. I've seen power issues described in reviews, but I haven't had any.
It's just ok. Loyd Parkis way nicer.however we usually stay at Holiday Park on Lake Benbrook just a little further west on I20. As asked, where you need to be in th DFW area?
east of Dallas is Lake Twakoni state park real nice...... just north-east of dallas/garland is East Fork Coe park in Wylie TX on lake lavon......nice base camp
Living in DFW area, we drove over to check it out once. Not a very scenic place by any means. Mostly mesquite trees and scrub cedar. If you have a real need to stay close to the city(ies) it would be OK for a night or two. I would not recommend as a vacation destination.
