Looking at Pismo sands and/or Morrow dunes for a pre-thanksgiving trip. Never been there or are there other nice ones on the coast. We would prefer to be on/close to the ocean. if we are going 3-4...

Pismo Coast Village is a lovely RV park (resortish) Pismo Sands is a nice RV park. Pismo Beach in general has more amenities as a tourist town. Morro Bay is lovely, wonderful bay like beach. Great beach combing. The restaurants and shopping is a bit of a drive, at San Louis Obispo.
If you can get reservations at either you will have a great time.
