The DW and I made a 5 thousand mile round trip to Huron SD to a tractor show,
I planed the trip using GS site 8.5 or better on Idaho, Montana, South Dakota
and was very happy with all. We had pull thoughts at each with full hook-ups,
three out of the five we stayed at has pools and the most we spent was $41 for
a night all the rest we $35. All we very friendly, helpfull, three parks showed
you were to park and eben guided you in so you had a short run to Water, sewer,
cable hookups. We stayed at the same parks on our return trip as we did going
so we got a double take on each except for one which we skipped on the way home
do to the fact it was sort of out of the way and we wanted to be home before
the 4th.
I believe the trick to staying at GS camp sites is to pick at least on 8 or
better on the GS trip planner no less....Every GS park we stayed at always had
extra spots except one near Cor D'lane ID which was nice but had many year
round RV's staying there, I'd say a quarter of the park was taken up with
these folks....
On the fuel saving I fueled at Fly J, Pilot's and town pumps but only received
the 3 cents off a few time's, when asking at fuel desk their answer was
"I don't know why you didn't get it, try next time" Ugh.....
