If you book through the track, the price is nowhere NEAR that high.....at least not in my experience. - Sam_SpadeExplorer

Has anyone stayed at the campground at the CMS / Zmax dragway lately? Just wondering any pros and cons. Will be going there in June and will be towing my truck with golf cart. Thanks!
WOW....that must be some hunk of a golf cart if you can tow your truck with it !!!! :B Sorry, couldn't resist.
I go there twice a year. I love it.
No trees but otherwise fine. The showers aren't great, IIRC.
They have wide streets so you should be able to seperate your truck and golf cart from the RV before parking.
OR....you could rent two spaces, nose to tail.....which would be about long enough for a tandem semi (well maybe not quite).
Having a service shop right next door has come in handy for me twice now. They are better than the average Camping World. - I think you are talking about the large camp just west of the speedway. We have stayed there numerous times when we leave our daughter's in Virginia and head to Florida. Large, spacious sites. Make sure to check that there isn't a race when you want to go. Race times results in no vacancies as they are reserved a year in advance and the price can be $3-400 a night with a 3 night minimum. Wait an extra day and it will be $25 or so.
Dale - VeebyesExplorer IIStayed there for a truck show & drag racing. Non event pricing was in force for that one but a race was on the next weekend & the prices went into orbit.
- TxGearheadExplorer IIIf you're talking about the one on Bruton Smith Blvd just west of the drag strip, we stayed there maybe 2 years ago. It was OK. There was no race so it was almost empty. If I remember right the only negative was the large diameter rock around the RV sites.
- JJnLillyExplorerwe stay there when visiting our son in Davidson, NC. Nothing special but if no race activities, nice big spots when on events and price is good.
