- ndrorderExplorerFor a quick visit, check Black Mesa Casino. Cheap but little atmosphere.
Closer is Coronado State Park in Bernalillo. Nice, clean, views starting at $14/night wo/hookups.
Nearest forest campgrounds already mentioned.
If you have military benefits, Kirkland AFB has some nice fam-camp sites. - fanrgsExplorerDo you have to be in a national forest? If not, the Corps of Engineers cg at Cochiti Lake has hookups and is far enough from I-25 that there is no traffic noise. It is also about midway between Albuquerque and Santa Fe, so can be a base for visiting both cities. With our senior pass, we pay $11/night there for a paved, pull-thru, W/E site.
- LwiddisExplorer IIThat camp is about 7000 feet.
- Roy_LynneExplorerProbaby Cedro Peak Campground which is like east of the city near Tijeras. Others are Fourth of July and Tajique.
