Conway, Arkansas Walmart Parking

Is overnight parking at the Conway, AR Walmart allowed?
Several websites say it is OK. I called there and the person who answered the phone gave me a terse "No."
It is just an overnight stop for us.

Or you can go down by the Arkansas River and suck a toad at the Toad Suck Ferry park.. hehe...

We spent the night there one night in a hugh parking lot near the dam site. No one bothered us.. Police patrol came thru one time as I recall

I notice you didn't say call them first. Is calling (or, asking permission) only for WM?

A good friiend of mine is a manager at a Cracker Barrel. He told me that the managers had rather you not ask. Just pull in and stay. Most of the time when we pull in they are closed anyway. If we stop earlier than that we always stay in an RV park.

First of all, which walmart did you call? There are two walmarts in Conway. If you called the one on Dave Ward drive, they have no room for you to park and would have told you NO for sure. The other walmart on US 65 North has plenty of room. There are semi's, large motor homes and even small ones parked there overnight all the time. They tell me that you just need to go in the store and ask for permission first. I hope this helps.

Normally a no is a no but the no park Walmart list doesn't have Conway listed. See http://www.walmartatlas.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/no-park-walmarts.pdf

I would call back and ask for a manager and get a second response. Sometimes employees answering the phone are not managers or decision makers even though they provided you an answer.

There is a Cracker Barrel in Conway with a huge parking lot, same exit as the Walmart. Pull in and spend the night, get up the next morning and have breakfast. I see RV's there all the time. Stopped there myself once and spent the night when I was too tired to come on home.

I rarely stay in WM, but when I do, I just stop by and see for myself. No calling, because they really don't like being bothered by it. At least that's been my experience.

I always ask to speak with the store manager... this is before saying what I am calling about. The store manager or asst. manager is the best person to speak with concerning policies. IMHO

If the person at the store told me "No", I would simply find somewhere else to go. Last thing you need is a conflict. Their store management might have changed the rules for that store. Lots of other places to overnight for free...Dennis

Just because it's a public, Walmart parking lot, doesn't make it legal to park there. Many Walmarts do not allow overnight parking. So if you called the store and they said no....guess what...NO
Maybe try Cracker Barrel, Home Depot, Lowes or a truck stop....or as a last resort, a campground
