We stay at Portal once or twice a year, and we're always pleased with our stay. The wife found this cool video of the resort on their Facebook page this morning. This is a really great way to use a drone and GoPro. It would really be nice to see other RV resorts use drone flyovers like this on their web pages. Portal Flyover

Wowser, those are some pretty big rigs parked there.

Yes, there are. Part of the fun of staying there is to watch the rigs pull in. You see some that are definitely pushing the max length regulations. The trailers are 12' tall and 20-25' long, double deckers just crammed with toys.

Portal is in the midst of selling it's lots. The buildings are what they call "Casitas". The smaller ones are just a garage with storage and patios. The larger ones actually have 2 or 3 bedrooms. I guess one could use these as a home base as there is a parking pad for the RV.

I appreciate when CGs provide pics of each of the sites. The problem with mnay of the private CGs is they show very few pictures of sites, but lots of pics of facilities like the store, pool, and special events.

There are a few of these around but I kind of don't see the point. To me a park should be viewed from my level... ie the ground. Satellite view, drone view, or aerial shot can give you a general layout but fail at providing first person perspective.

We just stayed somewhere that had a drone view video and it looked like a totally different place from the ground.

You might dig this site Video of every cg and rv park in moab No need to wait on drone view just whip out your smart phone shoot some video and send it to them; we do.

Yes, that would be cool, but the National Park Service has banned drones in lands administered by them.
