Corning Rolling Hills is kind of a stop for the night place. If you get a site toward the back, it's pretty quiet.
The buffet isn't all that good--but the breakfast buffet is O.K. just the smoke stays with you. We laughed about keeping the windows open to Winters to lose the smell of smoke in my bride's hair.
Just a note--just south of this casino, the rest areas have dumps open most of the time.

Pretty everything you love about Seven Feathers is non-existent at Rolling Hills.

Comparing Seven Feathers (7F) v. Rolling Hills (RH):

  • 7H has level, paved sites. RH sites are crushed rock and not very level (I had two wheels of the trialer off the ground on my last stay).
  • 7F has beautiful green lawn and shrubbery. RH has a mish-mash of shrubbery and trees.
  • 7F provides Wifi and cable TV. RH has neither.
  • 7F usually is a temperate climate with little to no wind. RH is hot during the Summer and may be so in the Spring and Fall, with frequent wind.
  • 7F has spectacular bath facilities. RH has none.
  • 7F has swimming pools, fire rings and meeting rooms. RH has none of those.
  • 7F has a shuttle to run you to and back from the Casino or even downtown for shopping or dinner. RH has none, you have to walk or drive yourself.

Those are the differences off the top of my head. RH is cheaper than 7F which does make up for a little of the differences. Why do I stay there you ask? Because I travel the I5 corridor frequently and RH is just the right distance from my home. I use it on return to flush all the tanks, take advantage of the Blue Beacon Truck Wash in Corning, and it is about two hours from home so I can time my passgae through Sacramento to miss the rush hour traffic.

What did you not like about Rolling Hills? We love the campground at 7 Feathers. Thanks!

I have not had the seafood buffets but I prefer Seven Feathers food over Rolling Hills.

Spirit Mountain Casino in Grand Ronde, OR has the best seafood buffet I have had and many agree. The whole buffet is great.

I haven't had the seafood at the Corning (aka Rolling Hills) Casino buffet but I have tried the other offerings. IMO the buffet there, both breakfast, and dinner, are terrible. The only food offering edible is in the upscale steak restaurant.

Canyonville (aka Seven Feathers) seafood buffet is ok. Not a lot of selection (oysters and snow crab legs). Last time it smelled "fishy" as we entered and we chose to eat elsewhere.

Being from the PNW, I think you will be disappointed in either choice. But the Seven Feathers RV park is outstanding. The same can not be said for Rolling Hills.
