Sorry to hear about your disappointing stay at the campground.
Stayed there for 6 days in middle of August. It was a very hot and dry August in the area.
Had a great stay and the people that manage the campground are very friendly. It is only 3 miles from my where my sister lives so it was a good location for us.
I grew up in the Detroit Lakes area and get back there every 2 years or so. We have stayed at 3 other campgrounds in the Detroit Lakes area and will return to Country Campground on our next visit.
The water in that area is very "hard" and they use a commercial water softener to condition the water. Probably the reason not to allow someone to use a kiddie pool.
One night the turkey farm did bother us - no issues the rest of the time. It was warm so we just closed the doors and ran the AC.
If you golf you may want to stay at Forest Hills Golf & RV Resort - they have an indoor pool. We stay there if we do not stay at Country Campground. The campground is getting to be more for summer full timers so make reservations early.
