Philh, "...if one gets a flu shot, they are 35% more likely to catch a Coronavirus." Now, I've spoken with my family doctor and my pharmacist with that same question, and they said no. In fact, they said that by decreasing the odds of getting the flu by taking the shot (my shot is a multi-strain flu shot), it may also help in not contracting Covid. The reason: The multi-strain shot has a SARS-related component in it. Of course, you can't be allergic to eggs. My appointment for the shot is set up for September.
I have heard the same and may not just be this years shot, if you have been getting them annually you may have some resistance. I ave also heard the same thing about the BCG shot for TB. Who knows?
Tequila, I was asking for the source of this information as I don't believe in the "I HEARD IT THEORY". There is just too much miss information out there with people drinking the cool aid and trying to sell the snake oil. I like to stick with the information which comes from the scientific community, that has been researched and documented.
We are living in an age when fact checking and or resource information needs to be done for important things.
Lots of dubious info out there for sure. I did some research on the 1918 pandemic and apparently a lot the sort of thing you see now, happened then. Quinine, the precursor to hydroxychloroquine was also being pushed as a cure back then, along with eating lots of onions. I now know of 2 people who have died of it and I am getting pretty irritated at people who are minimizing it.
