Creekwood Farms or Pride RV Parks, Waynesville, NC

Well we need to change that name to Luckygirl

Creekwood and Pride are literally right next to each other and are close to I-40. They are across from a logging mill but the mill doesn't run all day and night. Creekwood has a lot of shade and I have an out of state friend that loves Creekwood. If you do come to this area and you do want to go see the elk at Cataloochie, you turn right out of the campgrounds and go to the last road on the left (Cove Creek Rd) before you have to go west or east in I-40. This road will eventually turn into a narrow gravel road with steep drops off and will take you to the Elk. We also have a fairly new Italian restaurant (Frankies) on hwy 19 not too far from the campgrounds. If you have any questions about this area, feel free to ask. I live not too far from these campgrounds.

Creekwood has more and better sites by the water. Very soothing to sit by Jonathan Creek and read or whatever. Pride has a pool and Creekwood does not.

We have stayed at both and you wouldn't go bad staying at either. Our TT and tow vehicle has a difficult navigating around Creekwood when they are budy. It is set up for adult camping while Pride is set up more for familes as they have more activites there.

Side note to Mockybird: Did not quite understand your post about the elk. There is a very large herd down the road at the Cataloochee area of the Great Smoky National Park and a smaller herd at the Oconoluftee visitor center area in Cherokee. I do agree that it is a sight you should not miss.

I think you did understand me :) That's exactly what I was referring to. The ones at Cataloochee. A must see but a crooked road to get to them.

Both are nice. Creekwood may be a little quieter and laid back. The amenities and facilities at Creekwood are excellent.

Last summer I wrote a review and posted several photos of Pride. Bottom line was that it's a mixed bag for us. Noisy, but comfortable enough and in a beautiful area.

We've stayed at Pride twice for 1 night each time. The 1st visit they put us in the middle of the CG and the site was "Tight". Rooms for the slides but not much else. Water, and electric were both good each time.
