Desjardins?

Has anyone used Desjardins travel medical insurance?
If so, have you had a pre-existing problem when you insured with them?
Anyone have any experience using them in a medical emergency in the U.S.A.?
Thanks
  • we had them a few years ago, never had to use the coverage. We now use Securiglobe, they are a broker , and seem to find the best policy and price. Just spoke with them yesterday and bought for this winter. The last 2 years, have been buying a total year policy, it was less expensive than just the travel health for specific dates.
I now have a condition, less than 36 months old, so my premium is a lot higher than last year. Give them a call, they are in Quebec. Can't hurt to talk with them. Dona
  • Thanks for answering. I contacted Securiglobe and got a quote. Compared to the quote from Desjardins it was $700 more, and that was Securiglobe's best company that they deal with. I asked Securiglobe if they could give me a quote from Desjardins...they did and it was OVER twice as high as the quote directly from Desjardins.

I have tried direct contact and contact through agents and not one comes close to Desjardins.
(fyi I have no conditions, DH has over 6mths no change/controlled afib).

Finding this strange, I again contacted Desjardins...different agent....came out same low price with all the same coverage as the other companies.
This is why I wanted to know if anyone has had dealings with Desjardins.

(For retired persons the difference from almost $5000 to just over $2000 makes a BIG difference.:D)
