- pnordanExplorerA bit further west but Big Lagoon in Pensacola is nice. Not on the beach but across the intracoastal from the National Seashore beach. You are also right at the naval air station with a great museum which is free.
- cindikExplorerYou can't beat Henderson Beach or Topsail! We love both, and try to go to one or the other every year.
- wbwoodExplorerNothing to do sounds good to me.
- FunnyCamperExplorer III would love the keys. I hear good and bad. Some just go ape over it and say it is a must go/see area. Others have said to me 'there is nothing to do. don't bother driving all that way!' LOL I can't imagine there isn't anything to do. I know I need to hit the keys some time in my life.
We hit the outer banks a few times. Nice!! Would love to get there again. - wbwoodExplorerI'm hoping to get to the keys next year. We will see if I can talk the wife and daughter into it. I'm already getting hit with ideas of the outer banks, DC, New York City and etc.
- boatms03Explorerwe have reservations for both henderson beach and top sail for our trip to disney. we are stopping for two nights at henderson beach on the way, and top sail for two nights on the way home.
- FunnyCamperExplorer IIthose 10 days in the Keys sounds wonderful :)
thanks for the info. I love hearing about the little details about the campgrounds. Site 73 sounds like a good one.
I haven't been to the emerald coast yet either and can't wait til I get something booked! thanks - CamsmomExplorerHi
Sorry for the delay. We were in site 73 I believe. On one of the little lakes. We loved it. It was very quiet, other than the birds.
The road to the beach is no problem. We walked it a few times. No real hill to speak of. Most of the people cycling it with their carts etc. were seniors.
We spent the second half of our vacation a few hours down the road in Gulf State park, gulf shores Alabama. We really like it too!
We had never visited the emerald coast, but we will definitely be back.
Next trip in the fall, 10 days booked in the keys!! With some sorter stays in other ares too!
Enjoy! - FunnyCamperExplorer II

We always stay at CampGulf when staying in the area. It is the only campground directly on the beach and that is the reason we go...to be on the beach!
I haven't seen CampGulf. I have to find it on the internet and do some research. thanks - FunnyCamperExplorer IIThanks everyone. that is good info for me. I love knowing the little details!
