We have stayed here before and it is awesome. The Dolores river runs right through the camp!

As littlemo said above, Priest Gulch RV Park is awesome! Last time we drove past it we stopped and made a mental note to plan some time there next time we're headed that direction.

The Dolores River didn't look as nice, and we didn't stop to take a look.

At Priest Gulch there is much less traffic noise, especially if you get a site right on the river and let the sound of the water lull you to sleep. And it is much, much nicer as well. Well worth a little extra drive, even for just a one-night stay.

We stayed at Priest Gulch campground, as others have posted it is a great place to stay. We used it as a base camp to explore Durango, Telluride and Mesa Verde NP. The owners are amazing people and make your stay very comfortable. Most of there sites are on the river and they offer free fire wood. Most campers in the park return annually to camp there for the summer. They usually receive the same campsite and are allowed by the owners to make them their own. An amazing concept I have not seen anywhere else that I have camped. Make your reservation you won't be disappointed.
