- Doug33Explorerso they went from moonshining to meth?
- buckyExplorer IIThey must have expanded the place since we visited. The son was about to take over at that time (10 years ago?) You just about had to go there to make a reservation as the phone went unanswered and the messages were not returned. A family member went up there to make the reservations. Thuront is a nice little town, but don't go exploring in the woods very far. The Secret Service will greet you as Camp David is very near by.
- doxiemom11Explorer IIWhen we were hosts at a national forest park, stuff from making meth was found in the woods - closest little town was 18 miles away. It's all over the place.
- jayco302fkExplorerI am a LEO in rural NC and the heroin problem is very very bad. Nearly half of our jail population are in jail for it. Many are in for meth and meth labs. A great deal are in for stealing to support there drug habits.
- DrbolaskyExplorerNot surprised. We have had a lot of that kind of thing in very rural areas not far from here. In one instance the Feds raided a nice home in a residential area to find it had been completely gutted and was being used to grow over 600 marijuana plants.
- BumpyroadExplorersupposedly they have over 100 sites, 20 FHU, etc. but trying to find them in google earth can only see lots of trees.
bumpy - NanciLExplorer III heard they had the new boy rookie cop pull it out!
Jack L - buckyExplorer IICome on, we can't say C r a * on here? OK I'm sorry, but it ruined the comment.
- buckyExplorer IIThat is a******load of heroin. Owners or campers? It's a nice little place snuggled up to a good trout stream, sorry to hear it. That stuff is everywhere it seems.
