Eagle Lake

Camping with my brother and his sons and their kids this week.

From Santa Rosa, up CA101 to highway 20 through Clearlake. Stopped at the Williams rest stop on US5 north near Williams. Spent the night. Up to Red Bluff and east on CA36.

Good roads, some respectable grades. Breaking it up into 2 days was nice. Normally we feel more rushed than that.

We are in the Merrill Campground at Eagle Lake. It is beautiful. Normally we are dry camping folks, and I have to admit the full hookups are nice.

As my sweetie says, "we don't have to run the RV like the Apollo 13 Lunar Module."

The trees are beautiful, and the temperatures sane. Often the daytime temps are 100+F, but not this week.

  • With my sweetheart, Linda.

She's coming out of our Forest River Wildwood. We've had the RV for 2 and a half years, and have taken 18 trips.

  • Beautiful lake for fishing. The fishing is really slow, but we've had great times.

  • Eagle Lake is one of our favorites. Been going to Merrill for about 12 years.

Brother Bill has been coming here for 30+ years. This is my second trip.
