While in DC , we stay at Cherry Hill Park . If there , check out the night tour , it really is awesome..
We too stay at American Heritage in Williamsburg ,its nice and clean.
Another favorite of ours is Myrtle Beach , we always stay at Myrtle Beach Travel Park as it is ocean front , but there are a ton of other great waterfront campgrounds in that area..
Try a weekend at Hershey Park if you have kids .. even if you don't have kids , its a clean park with great chocolate!
We also liked Endless Caverns down in VA off 81.. Great Country , and a lot of stuff to do from Horseback riding , to exploring caverns..
