February too cold for Williamsburg VA?

Correction to my earlier response. Colonial Williamsburg will be closing in January 2016 but will be back in full operation in February -

As mentioned February is a toss up. You can be fairly safe March 1st but February is still a bit cold for camping for the most part.
Not only is cold an issue but if there is lots of snow and salt on the roads I avoid taking out the RV.

Honestly, if it's COLD (at our below freezing), we don't hook up to water, we use the facilities at the campground. Chances are that the campground won't have running water at the sites in the winter anyways.

It IS open year around.
As far as colder weather & water, we always fill the water tank, just in case, if it's not going to be below 32 more than over night, I leave the hose hooked up.But if it bothers you to leave it hooked up, it only takes a couple minutes to hook it up.

X-2, we live about 25 mi. from Williamsburg, February is totally unpredictable, i've seen it in the 70's one week, then in the upper 20's/low 30's the next, just wait till then & check the 10 day forecast to get a better idea.

2004 I toured Charlottesville, Williamsburg, coastal Carolina in January, leaving behind two feet of snow in Michigan. We didn't find the weather too cold to do anything (except maybe too cold to swim). Temperatures those few days were in the 50's with sunshine. Different things are going on in winter, versus summer, more of what there is to see and do will be inside.

"Too cold" is relative, and pretty personal. Growing up in Michigan, there were a lot of things we couldn't do unless it was cold enough, i.e. winter sports need dry snow, not slush, and wet ice makes for messy skating. But if you don't go outside when temperatures drop below 60 F, then February might be too cold.

If only an hour away, I would make it a day trip from home. That would get around the question "might it be too cold to have full use of the RV" which is iffier, depending on the temperatures in any given period. But how far for a day trip is also relative, I live in a part of the country where going out to eat might be 1-2 hours of driving.

I've been there several times during the winter months and day time temps
have been above 50 although the night fall below freezing. I'll be going again this winter - but I'm from NJ, so anything above freezing in Feb is good.
