It is a tourist trap! Nothing but a very small monument with markings on the ground and the small post. Many vendors give it a carnival feel with sideshow like barkers. There are many awe inspiring things to see and contemplate in the area including Mesa Verde, Hovenweep, Ute Mountain Tribal Park, Canyons of the Ancients, Anasazi Heritage Center, and the Trail of the Ancients Scenic Byway. Why waste your time with tourist trap?
Yep, while it is certainly not a "destination" stop, if you are in the area, it's worth seeing
once. It was nicer many years ago when there wasn't such a flea market atmosphere in the monument area. As I recall there wasn't even a "per person" charge (shake down).
