I am not the best writer in the world so bear with me. I live in Salem, Oregon, 63 and now retired. Headed south May 1, for a month long trip to see the sites. I believe the route will be to Boise, Idaho first then to Salt Lake area Utah, New Mexico/Arizona to see the Indian ruins then back to Hurricane,Utah for 4 days then headed back home to Salem, Oregon. This will be a month-long trip. This is are first time headed south-west states. Wife has been trying to find and reserve campsites along the way, so we donโt end up spending the night along the road somewhere. Had an old 24 foot 5th wheel and now have 2010, 34 foot 5th wheel. The F-350 truck and RV when connected is approximately 50 foot long. Yes, every time we take the RV out, we think of downsizing in order to fit into more RV campground sites.
The question I have now is , we will be headed back home from Hurricane, Utah. Not in and big hurry to get home and would like to find a reasonable route back home to Oregon. Thinking about driving 4 to 5 hours a day, get a campsite and relax. Might stay a couple of days at one spot or more if we like it. Been looking at possibly going up along the eastern part of California. I donโt know if road 395 is too busy and we miss a lot of quiet, back country.
Any suggestions on routes, roads to take and safe campgrounds to stay at. Love trees, wildlife, hiking streams and quiet places. .
Hopefully we find places like you been to, to get away form the city.
PS: Get reservations months in advance if you are going anywhere in Oregon. I am talking about 9 months in advance for the coast area and or other eastern state camp sites.
