Ft Desoto Restaurant Recommendations

We are heading to Fort Desoto campground in less than three weeks. This will be our first trip there. We usually go to Topsail Hill State Park. We are looking for some great seafood restaurants that are not chains that are close by the campground. Need suggestions please.

WE HAVE LIVED ON THE BEACH SINCE 1983. THERE IS NO BETTER PLACE FOR A GROUPER AND BEER BATTER ONION RINGS THAN DAVE'S DOCKSIDE. IT IS NOT A FANCY PLACE BUT GREAT FOOD.

Tarpon Springs is a long way for dinner:).

There is nothing "good" Within 7 miles or so, As a previous poster stated, you need to get off the island and drive over to St. Pete beach.

If you want to dress up and spend some money go to the Don Cesar, Maritana grill.. Pricey, but it is the DON.

X2 on the Hurricane, excellent food and nice, casual atmosphere.

The Salt Rock grill is also very good, about 10 minutes north of the Don, but worth it.

Many others in between, you just need to get Gulf Blvd from the pinellas bay way.

Dock side Daves in st pete beach,and if you travel north to tarpon springs sponge docks try rusty bellies.enjoy

We enjoyed The Seahorse in Pass-A-Grille FL (15 to 20 minutes away)(it's an old FLA resort town and fun to walk around).

Also, in Gulfport FL, O'Maddy's (a bit closer) is right on the waterfront. A popular place - good food and fun to sit outside if the weather's good.

There is nothing real close, on the way in Terre Verde is Billy' Crab Shack it is pretty good. We like to go to Passa Grill to Hurracanes and get one of the best Grouper sandwiches I ever had. To get there go back to pinnellas byway turn left till road ends turn left to Passa Grill 2miles?

I suggest you buy some fresh frozen shrimp and make "Shrimp Fra diablo" right in your own RV.
Every time you leave the park you have to pay a toll to get back in.
