At our weekly park-wide coffee yesterday our Manager announced that Mesa Regal (2005 total spaces, about 33% park models) is completely booked for long-time visits for the season. Some individual RV spaces for short time ( o/night - 2-3 days) may be available on first-come basis pending arrival of reserved visitors.

A couple of years ago, I went back to Yuma, and rented a rv lot up in the foothills. It had two rv spaces on it, full hookups, wifi, telephone included, electric, garbage pickup and laundry facilities in the consita on the property. Had a good neighbor from Alberta. The cost was $400. a month! I would look across the wash to a rv park and they were stuffed together and was paying $600. a month plus electric. Can't beat that!
What kind of activities did you have in the consita?

Well, it was a very big piece of land and we and our Canadian friends made a Bocce ball court and I taught them how to play and they taught me how to say eh? Also, we made a horse shoe pit. And across the street was a community center that one could join and swim in the pool, play cards and bingo and they had a lot of meals.
Nice.

2005 Spaces! Good Grief! Thats a higher population density that Hong Kong for crying out loud.

For my part I just see those numbers and run the other way. I realize that some may like that but I like more space, fewer people, and lower rates.

No, because you don't understand how spread out things are in Mesa. Yes, the big parks are like small towns, but they occupy large sections of land. As I recall, Mesa Spirit, like Val Vista, has a local post office on site, has its own hair salon, a restaurant, lots of different buildings for things like wood working, pottery, glass arts, quilting/sewing, fitness centers, pools (yes plural), tennis courts, and on and on. It is a small town where people spend 3-6 months in the warm dry desert area, visit with friends, do things, go places, etc. As far as being a parking lot - do parking lots come with citrus or palm trees at each site? And yes, the landscape has sand/gravel - it is the desert, what did you expect? Kentucky Blue Grass that requires huge amounts of water?

Yes, we could go way out in the middle of nowhere, find something cheaper, and sit and contemplate our navels for the winter. We just enjoy being somewhere that there are LOTS of things to do, both in and out of the park. Having a wide variety of different options is really great.

I was in a 1000 trails park in Mesa for 3 days. It has 1600 spots. Now I know why I winter out in Mexico. A Walmart parking lot with hookups and a pool is not what appeals to me.

As far as weather is concerned, no rain here, but ists hot, I am about 1/2 way between the border & Mazatlan, even the locals say they have never seen it this hot at this time of year. Put El Nino & Global warming together, I guess this is what you get. Looking forward to getting up to Copper Canyon on Monday where its a lot cooler

Anyone who parks an RV at Mesa Regal must like being crowded. The spaces are so small and so close together. Worse than some other parks.

Seems to change by the week depending who the source is.

Don't fret so much...it will be what it will be.

Unfortunately, the weather world is saying southern Texas will be cold this winter, not cool. I agree, this is why everyone is flocking to AZ and FL. AZ is suppose to have cooler weather and a little more precipitation. Last year there was 4 days of on and off rain in 5 months.

If only it were only "Washington". If only the weather were only the lower 48. It's a BIG world and on the whole it's changing at an unprecedented rate.

However, the forecast for the RGV this winter is "normal" so I'll take that.

Retiredblade you a absolutely correct. Others need to do their research, study their history and not believe what some are trying to sell to them.

Maybe some people need to see if the local community college has an earth science class or to they could take so they could lean some sciences
