- ReneeGExplorerHere are some photos of West Glacier KOA mid September when we visited in 2016:
As you can see, it's not terribly crowded. - ReneeGExplorer

Now, with a satellite on our RV, we prefer West Yellowstone KOA. They are spacious and in September, you can get three days for the price of two and there are very few people.
I think what was meant was West Glacier KOA. Agreed, very nice, but very open. If satellite is important, a great place to stay. If you like being enclosed in the piney woods, not so much. (Though we found it clean & comfortable, and the Red Bus tours pick you up right at that campground.)
YES! Thank you for the correction. West Glacier KOA. I edited my original post stating this incorrectly. - D_E_BishopExplorerI used to work and know that get away times are sometimes not the best to travel, but, spring is May and June at Glacier and my opinion the best time to be there, I say this just so you know another trip should be taken in the spring when you can swing it.
- 2gypsies1Explorer IIIApgar campground in the park on the west side doesn't take reservations. We've always gotten a spot. Aug/Sept is a perfect time to go. Enjoy!

St. Mary Campground on the East side does NOT take reservations after Labor Day. Usually lots of sites available then. Enjoy the visit!
Agree. We drove through there mid-September and there were lots of empty spots, but not all loops are open. We opted not to stay there because of the trees/brush could've scratched our rig. - Edd505Explorer

- ppineExplorer IIGlacier has a short season and the use is compressed into July and August. Going after Labor Day would be best. There are some RV parks next the park that are good places to stay.
