Hi All,
Looking for opinions on this park. I searched the this forum but only found comments for Canyon Vista. From what I can find on the net, it looks like a pretty nice park.
Cheers.

Hopefully I am attaching a photo of our "Premium" site here at the park. We paid extra to back up to a "wash", didn't know we also got the one and only dumpster in the park. It is activated about every hour also when full the bring a trailer and park it beside, odor gets a bit ripe when the weather gets hot. Oh yes....its hot![img][/img]

Quite often its the case that residents lose interest in you when they know you will not be staying for long. However they should realize this is where new residents often come from. Here in the park I am staying for this winter, they put the short timers at the back of the resort, far away from the activity buildings, then wonder why they don't return. I know this from friends who have visited this park in the past
and they all have the same comment.

You at Sunflower in Surprise next the the dumpsters?

I was concerned when we booked into The Resort in Mesa last year. Maybe 90% park models. I though RVers might not be welcome but we were nicely welcomed.

Only negative is that people seemed to lose interest when we said "We're still travelling - not coming back next winter".

Within Canyon Vistas is another park Superstition Views resort. Are they two different resorts that share the same amenities? Or is Superstition just construction built Casita's? Also is the 10 year rule strictly enforced? Our unit is a 2003.
Cheers

SV and CV are run as a single unit at this time and equally share everything. They claim that is their long term plan. No RV's are placed on SV lots without the Casita. 10 year rule is there for the parks protection from trashy rigs and if your coach is clean, polished and nice looking it should not be an issue. thanks for the comments about both parks. We will certainly check out both of them. It does look like CV might be the better park for us. We just want a change from southern California for one year.

And you will start driving the extra 300 miles each year!!! If you want to be in CVRVR next winter, call early this coming week. The good parks in the East Valley fill fast. Chris

We have stayed at Gold Canyon RV & Golf Resort and are currently at Canyon Vistas. We prefer Canyon Vistas because of bigger spaces and friendlier people. At GCRV&G our rv was his by a golf ball, and the park model next to us was hit a number of times. They sell park models in both parks and casitas in Superstition Views, but no pressure to buy. CV has nice dog parks, softball field, three happy hours each week, and lots of activities. We shall return to Canyon Vistas

Why are you looking at Gold Canyon? There are at least 20 RV parks with 50% RV spots in and around the area. Go to Apache Junction and Mesa, most north of Hwy 60. Look on north Ironwood. Some have wide spaces and some have only a few amenities if that is a need. We used Santa Fe RV park for a couple of years and really liked it. It is a Passport America park or was when we used it. It is the last RV Park on North Ironwood.

Thanks for the replies. Not sure if I am any further ahead. Looked at photos of Canyon Vista and it reminds me of the Palms in Yuma. Great pool area but the lots remind me of a sub division. And now I see they are pushing to sell lots for Casita's, just like in Yuma. I guess we'll find out next year. I think we might take advantage of the Cal-Am parks in Mesa and use the Passport America for a weeks stay and take the opportunity to scout out parks within Mesa, Apache Junction and Gold Canyon.
We just want a change from California especially around the Palm Springs (Coachella Valley) area. If all else fails we'll return to Borrego Springs, expensive but worth it.
Cheers.

Just about every resort in the SW is pushing park models. They just use RV to make a living until they can hook people for year round rent for a park model. CVRVR is still mostly RV's and a very nice Resort. Sites are basically 40W x 50D! We spent 6 days in Mesa at Val Vista and I could hardly get between the TV mirror and the side of the MH next to me. And that was with a narrow slab!

We spent 5 winters at CVRVR starting 2008-09 and we are here for a week trying to get setup for next year to spend 3 months when I am done with yacht club officers duties. Had a nice dance last night with live band for $10.
