On the north side of Bally's there is a small strip mall with a place called Battista's Hole in the Wall - Italian Restaurant. No windows just a door. It does not open until 5:00 pm. This is the best Italian in town. We go there every time we are in Vegas.

I agree the buffets are the place to go...fairly reasonable and lots of choices. Now if you go to the one at the Bellagio it will be a little on the pricey side but that is because it is all gourmet food. DO NOT compare casino buffets with Golden Corral or the likes...there is no comparison. We also like the one at Main Street Station.

If you like old world Italian in a great atmosphere, try Batistas, a block off the strip somewhere about halfway down. QUIRKY, REASONABLE and good. they bring your choice of wine with the meal and it has been around for a long time. I was there twice, 1st time about 1985, 2nd time 2013, didn't change a bit.

Hash House a Go Go, located in the Quad Casino (formerly The Imperial Palace) has crazy good food. KGB Burgers in Harrah's casino has some of the best burgers I've ever eaten.

Two types of places to eat; 1. good; 2. cheap. Among the good ones; M, Mandalay Bay, Wynn, Bellaggio, Venetian, Aria, and Planet Hollywood- all buffets. Among the cheap (and they all have coupons/player's card discounts); Southpointe, Silverton, Caesers, NY/NY, Paris, MGM, Mirage. The other, older places on the strip are cheap and not so good. The places downtown and off the strip are OK, but not in the good category, and most offer large discounts.

Son lives in Vegas and his selection for eating out was:

Hash House a go go (it isn't hash)...huge portions and interesting meals

Yama Sushi...if you like sushi it was great! All you can eat is an option here

Enjoy!

For breakfast go to the Peppermill on the strip by the Riviera. HUGE portions and yummy food. You can almost split one plate between two people.

Claim Jumpers. Reasonable prices for an average size meal - but they are huge! Take the extras home for lunch the next day.

You need to define "reasonable", because Las Vegas compares to nothing else. And when it comes to restaurants, you get what you pay for.
