Has anyone ever camped at the Kampers Lodge Campground?

Has anyone ever camped at the Kampers Lodge Campground in Wilson, NC?

We stayed there overnight just a few weeks ago on our way north. We were escorted to a pull-through site that was level enough I didn't have to unhitch the truck from the fiver for the night. Pretty quiet at night and everything went well. Hit the road rested the next morning.

Yep, that's the place with the burros alright. We were last there in Oct of 2010. It was a good overnight stop with the Passport America rate. We still laugh about the chickens waking the burros who woke our dog who woke us.

Back then it could use some improvement and cleaning up. If it's been updated since then, I'd have problem going back.

We stayed there when the new owner (Miss Mouse?) first took over. Had a nice stay. They were doing alot to upgrade.

Hoping to get back there eventually and see the Volis Simpson's whirligigs.
