Hatteras and Ocracoke Island recommendations

The Mrs. and I will be spending a few days there in late March. Looking for some suggestions on good restaurants. Haven't been to Outer Banks in 20 years....

Thanks
  • We will be trying Howard's Pub when we go to Ocracoke. Had a friend also recommend it. Looking forward to some time with the wife and getting back to OBX. Haven't been since 1990.
  • For Rodanthe, Waves, Salvo

StingWrays which is great food, For a pizza/Italian food, Lisa's Pizza(probably the best on the OBX)...also Good Winds café in Rodanthe...and if you come up to the mid OBX..do not miss the Kill Devil Grill...a bit more expensive BUT WORTH IT..
  • There are lots of good options; a few we've enjoyed

    Hatteras Island
Diamond Shoals - Not fancy but good food & reasonable pricing http://www.diamondshoals.net/

Orange Blossom Cafe - Breakfast pastries (Apple Ugly) http://www.orangeblossombakery.com/

Cafe Pamlico - More upscale http://innonpamlicosound.com/CafePamlico/Restaurant/

Gingerbread House - Good pizza http://gbhbakery.com/

Buxton Seafood - Good selection if you want to cook your own

    Ocracoke
Pony Island - been around forever; great crab & swiss omelet; similar to Diamond Shoals

    Dajio's - Upscale (for Ocracoke) http://www.dajiorestaurant.com/

    Howards Pub - Worth a visit http://www.howardspub.com/ordereze/default.aspx

sMacnallys - Dockside open air, good burgers, may be a bit cold in March
  • We liked Howard's Pub on a hot day in Ocracoke - on the road at the edge of town that leads to the NPS Pony Pen and campground.
