Henry's Lake CG, ID

Stayed at Henry's Lake for half of our Yellowstone visit. I made reservations on line, and at that time I included the info that I had a dinghy.

However when I showed up at the gate, I was charged $5.00 a day more for having the dinghy.

Dirty trick. I don't know whether to blame the state of ID or the reservation company. Not happy.

On the good side, the CG was clean, and so were the bathrooms/showers. Not much shade, but in the last half of August the weather was very pleasant, both day and night.

We stayed at Henry's Lake State Park in August on our return from Banff, Canada. We thoroughly enjoyed it. We had stayed several years ago at Red Rock RV Park for a brief Yellowstone visit. I will just say that you have two good choices in the Island Park area. In fact, I'd like to go back and just visit the scenic drives in the Idaho area.

How was the fishing? I've pulled a lot of large trout out of that lake.

Didn't even know there was a CG up there.

We stayed at Red Rock RV Park and took a road next to the Park that went up to Henry's...beautiful.

It's a State Park thing. They charge $5 for each motorized vehicle. I had a run in with then a while back. I could not understand why they treated a vehicle towing a trailer different than a motorhome towing a dingy. The motorhome is to be parked the whole stay, same as a trailer or 5th wheel.

If it was the State Park, I believe they have a $5 fee for each motorized vehicle.
