Recent review on rvparkreviews.com: "Do not go to this place ever. Don’t waste your money. Awful place, awful people, rude owners, incompetent staff, unsafe environment. Never ever take children here! If I could give a negative rating on this campground I would. We stayed at this campground over July 4th weekend 2014. Our experience is best described at absurdly horrific. The campsite next to us had an outdoor orgy. Drunkenness and lewdness all over. Loud obscenities shouted from other sites all night long. There were people having sex and vomiting in the bathroom/shower area. We were lied to about the condition of our campsite as it was underwater when they confirmed reservations. Our credit card number was stolen via the use of smartphone text. No security driving the property as promised. No cell service to call authorities. Portable toilets pushed over by drunk patrons. Rude unapologetic owners that wouldn't give us a less than $100 refund. This was the worst experience we ever had camping and we won't be back to the state of Missouri. As we were leaving a lady in an RV said they had a similar experience. Do not take your RV or go tent camping at this place. It is unsafe, unclean, and poorly managed. This is a hedonistic establishment and not family friendly! We camped here in a Tent. "The parks I choose never have these activities to choose from. Puts shuffleboard, minigolf and jump pillows in most parks to shame.

Could be a description of our last family reunion, except they forgot to mention the Bonfire-O-Tires we always mark the end of the festivities with.

The reviewer must not have read the review from 2011 before making reservations. It was a half star then. Sounds like most of the "patrons" have more tattoos than teeth and too much tequila. Might have enjoyed the place back in the '60s. But I don't have a tattoo, have most of my teeth and gave up tequila after... Can't tell the story here. It's way too ugly.The owners should get a marketing director and advertise this place. I might give Branson a run for it's money!

At most RV parks, if you occupy an RV site you will pay the same rate regardless of whether you stay in an RV or a tent. From the park's perspective, you are using an "income producing" site; the park wants to maintain the same revenue flow regardless of who uses it. Sure, you'll use little or no electricity compared with an RV, but that's only a couple of dollar difference, at most, per day.

I went back and reread the OP, they paid $44/night to camp in a TENT! It's been years since I tent camped but it seems that prices were a lot lower for tents vs RVs.

A major summer holiday that happens to fall on the weekend, situated alongside a winding river and a campground that caters to the animal house crowd. That my friends, are all the stars lining up against the naive vacationer who is traveling right into the perfect storm.

It was bad but nothing compared to your place, lots of drunks, 30 amp breaker kept tripping and they wouldn't do anything about it. Very loud music but they cut it off around 10PM. The sites have a concrete pad but it was narrow and it dropped off to a water filled ditch off the pad. The utilities box was in the water. The roads were not marked, the map showed multiple site 44's, turned out they didn't print a '1' in front of site 144. The roads were infested with a LOT of golf carts driven by either drunk adults or a teenager. The pool was full of people drinking beer in the pool.

They expected you to wear one of those plastic arm bands the whole time you were there. And on and on.

The only thing I can say in their defense is that this place is intended as a music/destination park and so far as I could see the great majority of the people there liked it. It is not intended to be a park for the majority of RVers like most of the people on this forum. I know there is at least one music destination park here in Florida, The Spirit of the Suwanee near Live Oak. I've never camped there tho and don't know if it's the same sort of thing. I know there are lots of golf carts tho.

Let me comment on Spirit of Suwannee, it didn't have the outside nudity, but the drunks, loud music and idiots racing golf carts around at all hours of the night screaming and yelling more than made up for it. We even tried to go to their Christmas light show-the drunks were out in full force for that as well. I can say that I will never camp there again, once was all I could handle.
