How early to Yosemite 32 foot Travail Trailer

We are planing a trip to Yosemite next year. We want to make sure we are there when there is water over the falls. I was there 20 years ago in the late fall and no water.

1. How soon in the spring should we plan to arrive? When the snow is gone and the campgrounds are open.

2. Best camp site for a 32 foot travel trailer over all 65 feet.

the OP is asking about Yosemite, NOT Yellowstone.

Yosemite doesn't hold snow on the ground like Yellowstone. The valley is at 5,000 feet. You may catch a snow storm but if it's not on the day your are driving, it is manageable. Once snow hits, the roads in and out shut down. I consider myself blessed to have been in the valley once when a storm came through. Great photos.

March to May is the window but it all depends on the snow pack at elevation and when the thaw starts. If I remember correctly, 01 April is considered the peak snow pack for the Sierra's.

Stayed there late March this year and had plenty of waterfalls. Also stayed in June and the waterfalls and rivers were even better, but the weather was so hot.

As far as trailer sites...you'll have to look at the site list on the reservation website. They list the sites that can accommodate your trailer. Like you've heard, there aren't that many.

After spring break and before kids are out for summer.
No hookups in the park and very limited sites for your length.
North Pines is probably best shot or camp outside the park.
At your length make certain you have reservations if camping in the park.

Pay attention to this winter's snow pack. The more snow, the longer the falls will have water. I was there one year when the snow pack was 150% above normal. All the falls were were at their peak as late as mid June. The Tioga Road did not open until June 17.

Getting a RV site inside the Park will be harder than winning the Lottery.

April would be the earliest i would go, if i wanted to avoid snow as much as possible.
May would be the best but you'll still need to make reservations months ahead of time, since May is almost as popular as the summer months.

that's a big trailer and your choices will be limited.
