Having made fun of the of the cold, windy, and wet weather in the RVG over the years, paybacks are hell. Winter in south Fla is supposed to be the dry season...NOT this winter plus its been colder and windier than normal. Sorry I complained about the high winds in early January since it was warm and no rain, even having to run to AC several afternoons. Now its rains for several days in a row until it turns cold and the next front stalls and it starts raining again. More than 10” in the past two weeks and I’ve had to run a heat pump at night.:E

OK, I should not complain about 65 degrees instead of -20 some are having, but enough with all the rain. Glad you’ll in TX are having a good winter, even if we are not. Am I sorry about giving you in TX a hard time in the past...not really as in the 10+ years snowbirding in SE Fla this is the first that’s sucked and it’s only February 1. Fortunately next week is looking really nice.

Over the years I’ve noticed there is usually a 20 degree temperature difference, Hi to Low, in the RGV during the winter but 82 one day and 42 the next...a 40 degrees difference??? Guess that’s better than the 3 degrees difference on Wednesday. :B

You evidently didn't come far enough south !

Here in the Keys it has been a delightful winter with hardly any rain.
I need to water the plants every other day.

I think so far since October I only had to wear a sweat shirt on about four occassions and all other days is a bathing suit and T shirt.

I do notice that Miami and Naples seem to get a good amount of rain.

Next winter come down to "the rock" and experience the real paradise!

The WX guy I like (Joe Bastardi) admits he’s missed the forecast for February with it being warmer in the SE and S central BUT he still says winter will be longer than normal...all of March colder than normal. The warm spot will be the lower half of Fla. Based on the forecast for Mission coming up he may be right.

It was cold for a few days. Now it's warm again. Typical for this time of year. Better than at home.

Ah, Gee, wish I could say I agree with ivylog, but the chill that the RGV has for most of the winter (I remember changing clothes two or three times per day to put up with the cold to hot to cold.) lasts only about two weeks in SW Florida. We're flirting with 80° all week, and then topping the 80s by Thursday.

Here in RGV we are expecting 70's and 80's the next 10 days. We have had an average amount of rain and our share of cool weather too. Not perfect but the upper Midwest weather makes it look pretty good.

Yesterday the REAL temp was -30 (f) when I went to work. With the wind chill it was -60 (f). Even the die hard Wisconsin people said that this weather sucks.
The forecast for Sunday is +46. That is crazy - a 76 degree warmer in 3 days.

Don't complain about your weather, it was 95 degrees warmer than we were.
