Icicle River rv park Leavenwoth Wa

We spent 2 nights in this park. The staff was very freindly and helpful. Most of the park is grassy with cement pads to park on. For some reason we were placed in a dirt spot, no grass, no cement. Not sure why when we made our resevations over a month in advance and the park did not appier to be at capacity. This was really dissapointing when the rest of the park looked so nice and we were sitting on very dusty dirt. The wifi was slow but acceptable, weak signal for us way out in the dirt. Also the cable service had pleanty of channels but the picture quality was horrble. I wounder if the folks in the nice grassy parts of the park had better service. Will we return again? Not sure at this point. If we can get a guarentee of one of the nice grassy spots? I suppose. If you are planning a trip here, make sure and ask about it before securing your reservation.
  • What I would say is this is the quietest park in the area the others I'm aware of in the area are close to the highway or RR tracks. We made a fairly last minute reservation for the 4th of july so in all fairness we got stuck in the very last spot they had available. It is a popular park with people from the Seattle area since it's only about a 1 1/2 hour drive from the Seattle area and all our friends with RV's speak very highly of it, and a lot of people make reservations far in advance because they come back year after year.
  • Yes, I would return IF they would guarantee me one of the paved spots with grass. Parts of the park are wooded and might have an obstruction for your Seattleite . It would be worth asking about when you make your reservation. The parts of the park with grass looked really nice and the town is a lot of fun. Eat a bratwurst while your there!! Yum Yum!
  • Would you return if they could provide you with a site in the other area? Is there a park in the area that you would use instead? The DW wants to visit the area in the fall, so your post really caught my eye. Were there obstructions for roof mounted satellite TV?
  • We had the same issue with the cable here and so did the site next to us part of this park has some beautiful sites with grass some not so much.... the setting is awesome .....I think the infrastructure in the dusty part of the park is deteriorating during the 103 degree heatwave that section lost power after having low voltage they did get it fixed....
  • Some parks have certain sites set aside for short-term stays. Usually these sites are near the entrance and are more heavily-used. This may explain the site you got and why it seemed less attractive than other sites you saw there.
  • OK guys, maybe my wording was a little too strong. You seem to be reading more into this than I intended. We did not ask about moving sites, we were only there for 2 nights and the difficulty of packing up and moving to another site for 2 nights just wasn't worth it. No I did not have my antenna booster on, 1st thing I checked, 2nd thing I checked was my cable connections. The problem was on the park side. I spoke with 2 other guest in the park who had the same issue. My intentions here were not to push people away from this park, it is overall a nice place. I just wanted to clue you in to ask for one of the nice site when you made your reservation. If you don't mind dirt, knock yourselves out.
  • Did you ask why, or if you could move. I think that would have been my first option. We have asked a couple of times, and folks have always been very nice about giving us another site.
