Impressive Grand Floridian Hotel

Snowbirding in FL gives one a little extra time from NOT shoveling snow drifts. DW & I used that time to visit and view the holiday decorations at the Grand Floridian Hotel near the Disney complex. This was a FREE event and open to the public. Talk about being awe struck. This country boy saw how the real rich folks live. The forty foot Christmas tree was amazing, but the sheer size of the complex was mind boggling. The rooms start about $650 per night and the suites are upwards of $3100 per NIGHT.

The bellhop told us that when he delivers luggage to the suites, some patrons tip him $400 or more. Imagine that! :@

It's not near Walt Disney...... It is right smack dab in the middle of Disney on their property..... The Disney Monorail from the Magic Kingdom only stops a 3 hotels ... The Contemporary first.... Then the TTC...the Polynesian .... And then the Grand Floridian...
The Grand Floridian actually has a separate wedding chapel due to all the folks that want to go there and get hitched....

It is nice , but if I ever go there without my camper , I will stay in the Wilderness Lodge...
That is more my cup of tea.
.........

I know that... Thats why I stated that IF I ever go there WITHOUT MY RV..... We stay 2 weeks every year at the Fort...

You can state in one of the trailer park models in Ft Wilderness if you don't have an RV and still have that park feeling.

If you had that kind of money would you really spend any time at Disney World, mixing with all the common people. (one of them being me)

That's right! Me too,....(common person).
BUT, if I win the MegaMillions, no doubt y'all are going to think I went MIA....never to be heard from again.....:B
I bet you would still be around Willie, in a new Newell coach.

No, stay at Fort Wilderness, in the RV park! That is where the fun is! And you can go see all of the other expensive places where people stay for nothing except the cost of your site - - and while it is expensive compared to other RV parks, it is Disney World and much, much less than staying at one of the hotels.

Let's see if I spent 90 days there at $3100. dollars a day that would be $279,000.

I could buy a new top of line DRV, new truck, new boat and 90 days at Blue water key and still have a boat load of money.

It is a gorgeous place isn't it? I'd like to stay there sometime but it's about a months worth gas money every night.
BTW, it's modeled after the Hotel Del Coronado in Fl. which is equally magnificent.
