areavibes has the crime rate in Yuma at 76% higher than the national avereage

Neighborhood Scout puts Yuma down at the bottom of their list of US cities to 14, (100, being the safest)
I tend to research the places I plan to stay in long term. That's why I posted the question here on the forum for qualified answers, not immature criticism.
Granted, there are safe areas outside crime ridden cities. Folks that stay in Yuma for the winters should be qualified to relay those campgrounds or areas to those of us who have never been there. From the few positive replies, I would guess the Foothills and areas East of the city are safer as opposed to around downtown. If you find this response an insult to your loyalty to Yuma, then please ignore this post. It's not going to help me or anyone else interested in a qualified, (and relative) answer.
