Isleta Casino Rv Park in Albuquerque NM

We want to go on the train to Santa Fe this fall. I was told we should stay at this park because it's right on the rail line. We would only be staying there 2 nights. Now, people said you can hear the train at night and early in the morning but we are more concerned about the park itself in terms of being clean, level sites, good strong 50 amp electric, reasonably roomy sites etc.

This park is part of the Isleta Casino complex in south Albuquerque NM

Your comments would be appreciated.

  • Next time I am in Albuquerque I will stay at isleta. Have stayed at american, and Kirtland AFB, but I like isleta better.I like the area and sites to the left as you go through the gate better than the area and sites to the right.
  • Our thought was to be at this park near the end of October. We've from Canada and can't leave much sooner because of the day restriction being in the US. We want to go on the train to Santa Fe that's why we thought we would stay at this park as you can walk from the park to the station. We didn't know what shape this park was in. We have had some experiences where we have found some parks we haven't seen before and not being too desirable.

Anymore opinions would be appreciated so we can make up our minds. A couple of years ago, we stayed at the American RV Resort but it's quite a way west of Albuquerque and was a drive to the station where we picked up the train to Santa Fe. It was the first station north of the downtown Albuquerque stop.

  • You could also drive the short distance to Santa Fe and stay at Santa Fe Skies - no train noise.
  • You don't mention what dates you will be here but if during the balloon fiesta in October you may not find a spot available. The Fiesta this year is Oct. 3 to 11. Any other time you should find a space.
  • We stayed there couple of months ago. I guess I slept through the train as I never heard it. I thought the the sites / area to the left as you drive in were nicer than those to the right.
  • We did on occasion hear the train as there is a stop right next to the RV park, but with our vent fan and AC we didn't really hear it all that often. Isleta Lakes/RV park is showing some wear and tear, but they do try to keep it up, power is OK and sites are mostly level. Not a bad stop for a couple of days, lake and casino can provide a few hours of fun if you are so willing.
