We just booked this campground for this summer in GJ and was curious if any one has been there? We also booked Cherry Creek in Denver. Both are state parks and just looking for any info on them
Thanks

Thanks for all the replies. I have a cousin that lives there in GJ, he also happens to own The Blue Moon Cafe in GJ. Thanks again, it makes me feel good that we picked a couple of nice campgrounds.

Loved the James Robb-Fruita State Park campground when we stayed there a few years ago!

We have stayed there several times, and one of the best rv parks of any kind we have stayed in. Scenic, spacious, modern sites with FHU. Very close to entry into Colorado National Monument, Dinosaur Museum, supermarket and stores, etc. Highly recommended.

Used to live in GJ too, summer can be 90's during the day, but cools off to 50's/60's overnight, so it's really quite tolerable.

I've not stayed at Fruita, but it's one of the newer additions to the James Robb State Park components, and should have nice facilities in keeping with the Colorado State Park system. I'm sure some of our members over on the Western Slope will give you some good insight. One caveat...Grand Junction can be very hot in the summer. But....it's a dry heat!

Cherry Creek is one of the "crown jewels" in the Denver Metro area (along with Chatfield), and is very popular...and with good reason. Good that you've booked both already.
