- n7bsnExplorerCheck the web-site, it's all there.
We spent several days there last month and will return.
It can be crazy busy on weekends, more so if there is a troop of Sea-Scouts in for the weekend.
At one point, we were the only campers there, other then the hosts, nice and quiet mid-week.
Fishing, hiking, boating (only their boats).
To me it's the best MWR campground I've seen. - Roy_LynneExplorerYeah we are military
- RoyBExplorer III was thinking this Recreation Area was only available for MWR DOD Govt folks and not open to the general public??? Maybe times have changed...
This is the location of the Naval High Powered VLF Transmitter site. This operates above ground on 200-foot high stretched out wire antenna at 24.8KHZ at a power of over 1 Megawatt of RF energy.
This site was developed in the early 50s and I think it is still operational...
I guess it is safe to hang out around those hills haha...
