Knoxville Area - I-75

Looking for an overnight stop close to I-75 either north or south of Knoxville.
Pull through with W/E preferred; something other than KOA. I am aware of Volunteer Park - looking for an alternative. Also not interested in W.M. or Flying J.

Any suggestions ?
  • We see a number of campers overnighting at Walmart in Turkey Creek in Knoxville. It's a easy off an on I75. Lots of restraunts within walking distance. It is located between Lovell Road and Campbell Station are. Secure area with lots of traffic.
  • We also use Cove Lake State Park at exit 34 about 40 minutes north of Knox close to freeway and town of Lafolette and reasonable cost.
  • We've stayed at the KOA Sweetwater off exit 62, south of Knoxville.

Decent place, good restrooms, would stay there again.
  • I prefer Racoon Valley at exit 117. It is a Escapees Park that accepts non members. I have had friends stay there while visiting Knoxville.
They do have pull thru sites.
  • Exit 407 Dumplin Valley RV, Kodak, Tn, a little N of Knoxville. Nothing fancy or expensive.
  • Thanks for asking, Trip-a-lot! We may be stopping overnight in this area too!
  • Don't know when you are traveling, but Cove Lake SP is just north of Knoxville, in Caryville. It is not far off the interstate.

$20 per night and all the loops opened 03/15, so you have your choice of water/electric or electric only. Bath houses are open year-round.
