Lake Irwin

We drove here many years ago when you ur girls were Young to see the Wilderness Family cabin. I recall seeing some pretty good size RVs up here but just wondering if anybody else has traveled there with a rig.

Thx

  • Lots of people do. It has a very popular Forest Service campground that is full all summer. And the Kebler Pass gravel road is so heavily traveled by aspen viewers that it can have bumper to bumper traffic jams in fall.
  • We camped there with our Class B van a couple of times. The road to the campground is pretty bumpy/washboard. If you drive very slowly it is okay.

The campground is very popular and reservations can be made through recreation.gov. I believe there are only two walk-in sites.

We enjoy driving up in a car and fishing. The last few times we were there we were amazed at how many people were up there. It was pretty noisy. But this was on a weekend.

    Happy Travels.
