- ItsyRVExplorerThe CA rains will do little for Lake Mead. At best, it will send a very small amount into the Lower Colorado River Basin most likely south of Laughlin.

There are 12 existing desalination facilities throughout California, according to the state's Water Resources Control Board, including the Carlsbad desalination project in San Diego County, which is the largest desalination plant in the western hemisphere and produces three million gallons of drinking water each day.Oct 14, 2022 - goducks10Explorer

May be time to have a discussion about infrastructure projects to move water from where there is an abundance to areas that need it. But then it may be time to quit building in areas that Mother Nature created as deserts! :-)
Infrastructure? I think these recent storms will provide more to CA reservoir supply than Lake Mead. Need more snow in the western Rockies. - Nv_GuyExplorer IIIYes, the 5"+ that fell in SF just went to the ocean, as did lots of what fell in Sacramento (most storm drains go right to the river). Some did soak into the ground. But the good news is the Sierras got a good amount of snow.
