Lake St. Clair and Lake Erie

Fishing these lakes are on my bucket list. I ideally a campground where they met in western Ohio or just inside Michigan looks the best on the map. I would like to stay in a marina facility so I could leave the boat in the water. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.
  • Lake St. Clair is at the end of my street, Algonac SP is prolly the best option for this lake. Not many campgrounds in the lake st clair area.

Maybe stay a day or 2 close to Lk Erie then head to Algonac for a day or 2. I think one central location between the two might be hard to do without a bit of a drive.
  • Sterling is the obvious choice for Lake Erie, for Lake St. Clair you could consider Algonac SP which is right at the mouth of the St Clair River. No marina but there are several private docks nearby.
  • Just the smallmouth fishing. We have a young man we watched grow up fishing the final 12 today. He told me last month it was a trip I need to take.

  • Team,

You do have a first choice on Lake Erie and that is Sterling State Park. Just north of Monroe and it has both a boat launch and camping on the same lot. I can't say much for the camping there, it just isn't our style (Big open space). It will not be cheap for a non-resident, but what is these days.

If there is something on Lake St. Claire, I don't know about it.

    Matt
